This is a photo of paint layers taken off a graffiti wall in Compton, Los Angeles. In it you can see over 150 layers of paint.

Although it looks like a large piece of wall, this freaky photo is actually an extreme closeup scan of a 1cm thick paint chip .

Resembling an ancient artifact the paint chip, taken from the Belmont Art Park, gives show how the same area was sprayed over with new graffiti pieces many many times. This stunning paint chip is proof that you can find beauty in the strangest of places.
