A British man who chained up his lover and whipped her during a sex session inspired by the erotic novel Fifty Shades Of Grey, was found not guilty of assault by a UK court this week.
According to the prosecutor 43 year old Steven Lock, a gardener, padlocked the woman’s wrist to a chain fastened to his bedroom floor and put a rope round her neck during a master and slave” sex session. He then allegedly whipped her so hard with a rope that she was left with 5 inch bruises across her buttocks. The unnamed divorced woman in her 40s claimed he hit her so hard that she heard the rope “whistling” and was left in agony.
After the whipping, Mr Lock then had sex with the woman, before retiring to his computer, leaving her tied up.
The woman agreed that she had visited Mr Lock for a bondage session after meeting him on an online dating site but said she didn’t expect to be hit so hard. She sent a text to a friend, saying:
“He has me chained up like a dog. He is whipping the s*** out of me. I need your help bad.”
Mr Lock eventually gave her the key to the padlock. But the freind called the police who found the woman dazed and distressed on the streets.
Prosecutor Duncan O’Donnell said at Ipswich Crown Court:
“She went there expecting a fantasy when Mr Lock wanted reality. She may have expected some playful spanking, to be hit lightly perhaps, but she received a lashing with a rope.”
Mr Lock claimed he and the woman had agreed to say the word “red” if either felt uncomfortable but neither had done so. He said both had fully understood what was going to happen. He said:
“As far as I’m concerned, it was a consensual activity between adults…. It was supposed to be kinky fun, I didn’t want her to cry.”
After being found not guilty Mr Lock said he was relieved the jury “had seen sense”.
