The Freaky lists our favourite human Barbies.
21-year-old model, Valeria Lukyanova from Ukraine is obsessed with Barbie and has built her life around looking like her favorite doll.
When photos of Valeria first appeared, people questioned whether she really existed or whether the pictures were photoshopped. But she does exist and she told V magazine her human doll look has been achieved without plastic surgery.
Many people say bad things about people who want to perfect themselves.
It’s hard work, but they dismiss it as something done by surgeons or computer artists. […] But I don’t take them seriously. I’m even flattered! It’s what success is like. I’m happy I seem unreal to them, it means I’m doing a good job.
Indeed, I’ve noticed a trend. Every good-looking woman with fine features and a slim figure looks like a doll. I won’t deny that I play along with people’s perceptions. I’m amused by the reactions. I don’t take it seriously.
Olga goes by the name ‘Dominica’. Like Valeria, Olga also comes from the Ukrainian city of Odessa. The two human Barbies are friends and often post pictures of themselves together.
Anastasiya Shpagina is another Ukranian girl with a Barbie fixation. Anastasiya admits to having surgery to reduce her waist.
Human Barbie Dakota Rose also goes by the name Kota Koti and has posted hundreds of You Tube fashion and beauty videos showing her fans how she achieves her doll look.
School girl Venus Palermo comes from London England. Her mother Margaret helps her achieve her human doll look. She says:
‘We choose outfits together. I find it fascinating. Very beautiful and innocent.
I think everyone can be whatever they want. If you push yourself to be normal but that is not you, you are escaping from your dreams.
I think this is freedom. There is nothing dangerous in this behaviour and she likes living like this.’
But its not just girls who want to transform themselves into Barbie dolls – Rodrigo Alves is a Barbie wannabe – a man who has turned himself into a real-life Ken doll.
