Alligator knocks out Florida cop

A police officer in Florida was knocked out cold by an alligator, while trying to move it. 

Cops were called to a residential area Ocoee in Orlando, Florida, after they recievd reports of an eight foot alligator wandering the streets.

A Florida Fish and Wildlife trapper managed to capture the reptile with the help of two cops, but as he was loading it into his truck, , the animal violently whipped its snout at one of the cops, knocking him to the ground. The shocking moment was captured on film.

Local resident Walter Day said: 

“The gator flipped back and head-butted the guy. It knocked him to the ground. At that point, it was (kind of) free and whacked police officers with its tail.”

The injured were treated at the scene of the incident and are reported to have fully recovered. 

What happened to the alligator is not known but they are normally released in a safe area.

Florida is well known for its alligators but this incident was particularly interesting because Ocoee is not near a body of water.
