Cat offers food to sick owner

When a cat owner fell sick they recorded a video showing their cat offering them food.
Video proof that cats really aren’t selfish self-centred felines and do care. Or do they?

Is this really proof that cats cab be empathetic? Or, is it possible that all is not what it seems and the owner placed the food there themselves and faked the video? As many of the comments on the video suggest. Are they just being overly cynical?
